Our Community Services team provides Home Care, helping people to remain living independently, as well as Supportive Lifestyles assistance for adults with complex physical and psychological needs. Our staff are very well trained and most have completed their NVQ level 2 and Dementia stages 1 and 2.
The inspector made no statutory requirements on the home as a result of this inspection and there were no outstanding actions from the previous inspection report. Highpoint Lodge is a family run Care Home, in a Victorian House situated near the town centre of Wadebridge. There are 9 single rooms with ensuite facillities and a double room ideal for a couple. We like to think of ourselves as one big family, those that live with us, their relatives and our colleagues.
Within Cornwall Care we take pride in the way staff are trained and updated on a regular basis. Our staff create an active caring environment where everyone is an individual. Residents are encouraged to join in with a range of activities both in and out of the home, we also have bands, choirs, musicians and singers who come in to entertain. There is often a substantial difference between fees charged to those who can afford the costs themselves and those who receive help from their Local Authority. A majority of homes aim to cater for both, but some target only one or the other. With a few exceptions, accommodation in a care home cannot be bought or rented like retirement housing.
Think of them more like full-board hotel accommodation with 24 hour care available.
